Nice trail with a few people on it! Took my full size truck and went about half way thru. Some washed out areas but overall awesome time!

West side of the trail close to the 330 has the roads pretty washed out. At this time of the season, I would only recommend 4X4 vehicles at 1N09. Nevertheless this is a good easy sight seeing trail.

Although it’s for sure open until the joint with Clark’s Grade at middle control road, it’s not the easy fire road it’s supposed to be (or normally is). Due to the last storm there are a lot of washouts, fallen rocks, logs, etc. We still made it all the way but had to move some rocks and put it in 4lo a couple of times. That being said anyone that goes after us should have a good time. Moving the rocks was our service for the next wheelers haha. Do Not take the short cut to Clark’s Grade, 1N64 (like we tried to). This is heavily blocked and unless you have chainsaws and a bunch of time, it’ll cost you some time (blockage is about 2/3 of the way in. See first pic.

I’m a novice trailblazer. The trail was in good shape. It provided me with a little bit of everything that made the drive fun. I was caught off guard on some of the river crossings and deeper ruts. I ended up driving all the way out to Angela Oaks and there were some technical areas that I managed to get through which means you will probably be able to get through. As your exiting out to Angeles Oaks, you may be stopped roughly 4 miles from Highway 38. It looks like they’re adding power lines, and I waited about an hour for them to reopen the trail, this was around 3 PM. There were other people waiting that arrived earlier than I did and some of these folks waited two hours. You might wanna exit up toward big Bear or turn around and exit from where you came. But I have a feeling if it’s after 5 PM you should be able to go all the way through to Highway 38.

It is open you’ll just have to break left and if you have high clearance you’ll be fine,

The trail is fully passable. There is a chaotic section at a river that has swept everything away. There are tree trunks everywhere, but they don't prevent you from continuing.

Many washed out parts. Was able to get through after cutting some trees but this should only be done in a 4x4 with LSD or locking diffs

Trail has recent rain damage. Which can be expected from the recent fire. Most of the usual water crossings are passable, but some have suffered major damage. Just a bit past bear creek (I thinks that's it's name) and the concrete arch bridge, about a mile to 1.5 miles past that, is a large washout. Lots of large trees, large rocks and mud. It was impassable. I'd say one more good rain and this trail is done for. I do hope they can repair it, I really like this trail!

Entered off HWY 330. Trail starts out wide but gets narrower. Rocks, some small ruts with 2 tiny water crossings. Took the Alder Creek trail down: A LOT rougher, uneven terrain and narrow most of the way down. Took about 2 hours to drive and the route was oerfect for this novice driver

This stretch east of 1N16, near the Southern California Edison property, gets a little tricky. It’s a constant climb or descent along the mountainside, and some of the switchbacks are really steep. Longer-wheelbase rigs like pickups need to adjust their approach angles, otherwise you risk scraping the underbody or the side steps.
