Trail Overview

This is a slow but easy trail heading east from 95 to Balancing Rock Camp. Existing ruts and additional rain can make this trail more difficult. From 95, turn east at Old Cable Trail. Follow the trail for approximately 3 miles, where you come across a large boulder hill to the south. Several gorgeous campsites are around this hill, especially the one on the south side of the mountain, just under the balancing boulder.

Trail is a bit rutted. Dirt/gravel road with embedded rocks that are slightly exposed. Some smooth up and down features with occasional shallow washes running perpendicular to the road. We didn’t air down for the short distance in from Highway 95 to Balancing Rock Camp. Late December on a Sunday night, we had the camp all to ourselves. Good roads from camp which we used to get some evening exercise.

Quiet. Camping spots to the east are worth it. Some quicker sections but mostly slow. Not another soul around.
