Trail Overview
Victor Millsap Trail is located off White Oak Mountain Road and travels through areas near private properties. The trail begins with a creek crossing, whoops, tight trees, and low-water crossings that set the tone for the adventure. Along the route, you’ll pass Napier Cemetery and eventually cross the East Fork Illinois Bayou, which can become a deep river crossing depending on weather conditions and water levels. The trail offers several excellent camping areas but be prepared for challenging sections with numerous downed trees, washed-out areas, and tight squeezes that make the route more technical and rugged.
Difficulty
Victor Millsap Trail has numerous downed trees, large rock obstacles, and a deep river crossing that can make sections of the route challenging. Be sure to come prepared with the proper equipment and recovery gear to safely navigate the more technical areas of the trail. You might consider bringing a chainsaw.
