Trail Overview

This has to be one of my favorite roads. It's an easy gravel road until you hit the end where there is nothing but small boulders to drive over. Plenty of campsites along this route including one with an American flag and a mailbox (which has little notes in it). 4x4 only as there are several water crossings where water could be a foot or deeper at certain times of the year. Several creeks along the way and trails to explore as well. Be mindful of the wildlife including cotton mouth and rattlesnakes along with scorpions. They say that bears are in the area however I have yet to see any bears in the Ouachita NF as of yet. There is no cell service along this route. 60 different species of trees along with a list of wildlife can be found here including woodpeckers, bass, deer, coyote, and the dreaded ticks.

Difficulty

At the end of this road, it leads to a very narrow small boulder road. There is no turning around and going back, once you're committed along this route and also onto the next Bear Creek Road, its one way out.

Overgrown on the west end of the trail. A few sections with larger rocks and ruts. Its doable in a stock 4x4 but unlike many of the trails in the area, something like a Subaru might struggle so be mindful. Great waterfall on the east end of the trail and lots of great creek crossings
