Trail Overview
Million Dollar Highway is an easy, scenic gravel route through the Muddy Creek Wildlife Management Area that is ideal for beginners, overland travelers, and families looking for scenic views and dispersed camping. Stretching approximately 3 miles through the Ouachita National Forest, this unpaved route connects Highway 28 on the west end with local forest service roads to the east. The trail features a mostly flat profile, peaking at 896 feet in elevation and descending to 698 feet, making it accessible to standard passenger vehicles, high-clearance rigs, and SxSs alike. Along the way, travelers will cross a well-built bridge over a scenic creek, surrounded by dense forest where wildlife sightings are common.
With a technical rating of 1, the primary challenge of this route is the thick, loose gravel surface that can become slick, particularly after heavy rainfall.
