Trail Overview
Horne Road is a fun, moderately challenging ridge-top trail that offers a steady descent down to a county road. While not extremely technical, it provides enough obstacles and terrain variety to keep drivers engaged from start to finish. The trail begins along a scenic ridge top with a gradual descent before winding its way downhill. Drivers will encounter a mix of rocky sections, mild off-camber areas, and small shelves or ledges that require careful line choice. Occasional washouts add extra interest and may deepen after rain, demanding a bit more attention. Overall, it's consistently engaging without being overly difficult — perfect for intermediate drivers looking for a rewarding drive with good flow. Taking FS 96066D to access adds to it and makes it a bit longer.
Difficulty
This trail has a lot of rocky surfaces, with some diagonal ledges that drop, which are 14 to 18 inches, depending on your line. There are a few washouts that may increase in size with precipitation. The ending is a descent that curves to the right with off-camber and more loose rocks.
