Trail Overview

The south end of this segment of ATV trail descends from the Stave Mill Falls Loop and has a caution sign for a Slippery Slope, which is either referring to the upcoming creek crossing or the following steep ascent up the mountain lined with cement pavers. The creek crossing was shallow in springtime, over smooth, flat rocks, but could be slippery or icy at other times of year. The following hill climb is quite steep, and full of cement pavers the entire way, which could get slick if covered in mud. Once at the top and past the Spur 2 intersection, the trail eases up significantly, becoming a wide, mellow two-track through tall grasses and low brush. Shallow ruts add a bit of texture, but overall, this stretch offers an easy finish after the initial climb.

Difficulty

This trail is a 3 difficulty due to the long ascent/descent that is steep over an uneven layer of cement pavers, but should still be manageable by most average riders with basic experience.
