Trail Overview

This is a great loop trail off Freedom Road. Along the trail, there are a few more loop and side road options that would make the path longer or more difficult. Due to narrow and tight turns, it is not currently suitable for full-size 4x4 pickups. Your 4x4 Jeep, Bronco, or midsize truck should be fine. The scenery is fantastic with lots of pine trees mixed with hardwoods and large boulders;all with heavy moss growth.

Difficulty

The main obstacles we encountered were downed trees and branches, which we were able to clear by hand. There were several mud holes but they had hard bottoms. Some turns are tight and narrow.

Traveling the loop counter clockwise in the first couple hundred feet I encountered a pretty deep “v” notch. Having a spotter was nice for this. The trail was pretty narrow in several spots, earning me some new pin stripes. Pretty deep mud hole in one spot but, an alternate route was available.

Came here by myself thinking it was going to be be an easy run. Totally wrong. Very tight trails jeep wrangler barely made it through. Lots of branches and low overhangs. Prepare for pinstripping. Trees down in several areas and you can get around but the go around are even tighter and overgrown. Nothing technical just lots rocks and stuff in your way on tight trail.

After reading reviews on this trail I thought it would be super easy. I was wrong! I was in a jeep wrangler and my buddy had an Xterra. It was tight. Trees blocked the trail, we had to cut several. Not technical though with the exception of the last section if you loop to the right. Off camber, slots washed out. We didn’t have trouble, but this was more than a 3 in my opinion. Saw some side by sides, perfect trail for those guys. Don’t bring a full sized pickup down there. You won’t enjoy it.

One downed tree in the beginning, and very few steep inclines/declines. A few areas of large rocks, loose rocks, and lots of fun dirt trails. Easy and beginner friendly! No hard obstacles! Small tree limbs and mud holes. One slight area ran alongside a dropoff but plenty of room.

This trail is very narrow, I was touching mirrors in several spots, multiple trees are down with alternate paths around them that are very rough and rutted out. if you enter the righthand entrance of the trail it is easy until you get to the end where there is a large, rutted out ledge that is impossible for a low clearance 4x4, or 2wd vehicle.

Easy trail with ruts and some loose rock. 3-4 down trees blocking trail. Workaround available. A couple of middle of wheel standing water hazards. OK trail with some nice scenery

Ran this in a stock gladiator. Easy and fun trail with one sizable mudhole about a foot deep. Nothing to crazy. Get ready for some pinstripes.

Big storms lately have left their mark.. downed trees passable by small vehicles only, deep gulleys and more than normal mud holes. Be ESPECIALLY careful about 1/2 way back on the right loop is a HUGE pit dug out by someone that is really hard to see until it’s too late. I had to be wenched out. It’s unfortunate someone added that feature in a blind location on an easy trail. Overall, felt more like a 4 or 5 with gullies and big rocks washed out. I have 10” of clearance and made it ok except for the “pit”. :)

Trail is tight in places. Took Jeep Gladiator on 35’s and Wrangler on 33’s with no issues and no damage. Be prepared for some pinstripes. All in all, good trail to teach wheeling techniques on with minimal risk.
