Trail Overview
This ATV loop in the Ozark National Forest winds through a mix of hickories, sugar maples, and oaks, often with mud puddles spanning the width of the trail, and low branches to watch out for. There are lots of loose rocks and the occasional downed log. Riding counter-clockwise from intersection M through R, S, T, and back to M, the west side delivers the challenge--a steep ascent through deeply rutted terrain with small chunky rock ledges, rolling rocks, and a small creek crossing, plus a small scenic waterfall along the way. Expect slick mud, tight tree sections, and the need to square up to logs, especially for dirt bikes. In contrast, the east side of the loop provides a smoother, easier ride along a mellow two-track trail through meadows and open forest, making this loop a rewarding mix of technical and relaxed riding.
Difficulty
The east half of the loop is easier, while the west half of the loop is moderate difficulty, with steep rocky sections, small ledges, and lots of loose rock.
