Trail Overview

This trail begins as a road near private property but traverses through a wooded area of the Ozark National Forest. The south end may seem like it passes through someone's property, but it is a public road into the National Forest. The trail contains a few shallow mud holes and small rocks, but is overall easy, and 4WD is not required unless very wet. There are no designated campsites or bathrooms.

Difficulty

Nothing technical about this, although high clearance and 4WD are recommended for seasonal mud.

Perfect combination of beginners rock climb. Some mud not deep at this point in time. Perfect for those who want to start and learn I believe.

Heading from the east to west the trail itself is not too difficult to maneuver. It does get narrow the majority of the way through. I was able to make it through fine with my sequoia but my friend in his Tundra w/ a tent had some encounters with some branches. Trail would be great for a Tacoma or another vehicle similar to that size.

Entering the trail from the East side, there is a pretty deep mud hole. I got around it by veering to the left missing the majority of it but it was still pretty wet. Got down the road about 75 feet and there was a tree overhanging the road. My sequoia that’s lifted could not fit so we had to reverse all the way out. If someone were to trim down this tree it would be a lot of help and others could access it another day.

After rains it can become muddy, but fun county rd that goes through some good scenery with pines.
