Trail Overview

This is a seasonal trail that is only open from Sept. 1st to Feb 28th. It runs along a ridge with occasional views that will be beautiful when the leaves change. It is a tight trail with several mounds where longer vehicles may drag in the rear. There are a handful of mud holes that all have a relatively solid bottom. Some spots are narrow, not allowing room for oncoming vehicles to pass so keep this in mind. There is a large antenna on the west end that is a good spot to line up all the rigs in your group for a photo.

Difficulty

There are lots of mud holes with mostly solid bottoms but 4 low would be a good option for them. There are also several mounds to go over that may make longer vehicles drag in the rear.

Beautiful & fun! More mud & water than usual due to the melting snow/ice, but nothing that prevented passage. Some lingering ice patches hanging on but those will probably be fully melted in a day or two. Enjoy it before it closes for the season!

The trail was covered by the recent ice/snow and was passable with no issues. This is not a technical trail as marked. It’s a nice trail though with pretty Mountain View’s and a big area at the top near the tower for a photo op.

Beautiful scenic trail, small wash outs with a little bit of mud. Easily passable in 2wd with high clearance rigs.

Not as smooth rolling since they graded it in spring 2023 and brought a lot of larger rocks to the surface. Some drainage cuts require high clearance vehicles and deeper ruts need planning.

It was relatively easy for a stock Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Drug the rear bumper one time. We were trying to get through it quick and it took us 25 minutes. Definitely more fun than the gravel roads surrounding it.

Starting from the West and going East, the trail starts off with a decent rocky climb up into the mountain. Then you cross some foot to 2 feet deep mud holes. Then, there was a rocky step climb that required rear lockers for some vehicles. Some sections caused my rear end to hit on a stock Rubicon gladiator. Very fun trail
