Bear Creek Trail

Bear Creek Trail is an exceptional offroad trail designed primarily for ATVs and dirt bikes looking to tackle rugged shoreline terrain with scenic views of Lake Greeson and the Ouachita Mountains. This specific 6.3-mile point-to-point segment begins at Daisy State Park and winds along the pine and oak-forested shoreline, offering a moderately challenging ride with an elevation gain of around 598 feet and a maximum elevation of 707 feet. While the entire trail network extends further to the west end of Rough Mountain, this section presents a technical rating of 5, featuring steep, expert-level inclines near the Daisy State Park trailhead that transition into easier, rolling terrain as the path heads east toward Kirby Landing. Riders should expect a primary surface of dirt and loose rock. Due to the tight, twisting nature of the trail through dense forest, it is ideal for ATVs and motorcycles, with vehicle width restrictions generally keeping larger UTVs or full-sized rigs off the tighter segments. Parking with ample trailer space is conveniently located at the Daisy State Park trailhead just off U.S. Highway 70, though offroad vehicles are strictly prohibited on the paved state park roads and must be trailered directly to the staging area. The trail is well-marked with yellow-over-blue blazes, making it easy to navigate as it winds along the scenic, deep-blue waters of Lake Greeson.
