Wash ORV Route

The Wash ORV Route starts on the south end at the trail marker off of the Powerline ORV Loop and goes north through a red sandy wash made of fine smooth sand. It goes underneath really cool rock formations. Sometimes it has red rock slab in the trail, but it's mostly sand. It keeps going onto the Ferry Swale Wash ORV Route, which is the same red sandy wash. As it gets closer to Highway 89, it turns into a gravel road leading out of the National Recreation Area and leads to a staging area, where lots of people are also camped. Note that this trail is in the Ferry Swale area of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. As of April 2024, a permit system for ORV routes within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is being developed, and ORV permits will be required in the future. Since this trail is in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, it's designated as open to conventional vehicles, OHVs, and street-legal ATVs/dirt bikes.
