Trail Overview

The Split is a demanding trail that weaves its way between two wilderness areas, offering off-roaders a thrilling and technical challenge. Rated a solid 5/6, this trail features a rough middle section with plenty of obstacles, wash crossings, and tricky off-camber spots that will keep even experienced drivers on their toes. Expect to encounter erosion, washouts, and sections where you'll likely hang a tire or two as you cross steep washout/erosion-type sections that will undoubtedly put you off-camber. As you head south, the terrain smooths out slightly, offering a well-earned breather after the ruggedness of the trail's heart. If you're up for an adventurous ride with a mix of adrenaline and skill-testing features, The Split is a can't-miss trail.

This trail is known as "Hummingbird Springs" in the FunTreks book and website. We didn't find any gates closed and ran it from end-to-end.
