Trail Overview
St. Paisius Orthodox Monastery is a women's monastic community located near Safford, Arizona, at the foot of Mount Graham. Founded in 1993 and dedicated to St. Paisius Velichkovsky, the monastery follows the Serbian Orthodox tradition. About twenty nuns live there, observing a full daily cycle of church services, mostly in English. The monastery is known for its peaceful desert setting, small chapels, and a main church dedicated to the Dormition of the Theotokos. Visitors are welcome, and the sisters support themselves by publishing spiritual texts, making prayer ropes, and operating a bookstore and online gift shop. More information can be found at stpaisiusmonastery.org.
