Trail Overview

Beautiful scenic trail that takes you through the middle of the Tumacacori mountains range. The first leg of the trail heading south from Amado requires high clearance and 4wd to navigate the washes and steep hills. After this section the trail opens up to the mountain pass and great views and potential wildlife viewing opportunities. The last leg north goes through steeper grades with awesome views across the valley to the Cerro Colorado Mountains in the distance.

Most of the trail is in decent condition. I just had to use 4x4 in one steep climb. The rest 2wd did just great. I liked that cell service is available most of the trail. Great place for camping when not too hot. I'll be back in winter.
