We went on dirt bikes, but I don’t recommend it. Monsoon has eroded some of the trail. We had to abandon one dirt bike and went back for it later in our SxS. Do not attempt in a 2 wheel drive vehicle

We ran the trail from West to East and is harder that advertised. Between waypoints 3-6 I would rate. 5-6 in this area. Shelf road had some 2-3 feet waterfall and very loose rock. Need to hug the wall as there is a bit of wash out. About half the trip is in 4L with some locker use. After the summit it is just rough with 4H used. Once at the Solero Ranch area, well groomed all the way to Patagonia. Tons of wildlife, deer , coati, javelina. A fun trail

Did this in a stock 2025 Tacoma SR5 base model rental with passenger tires. It was doable but fried the tires, was fun doing the same trail as all the ATV boys in a 2wd with huge air dam. Wouldn’t recommend in your own vehicle.

We went north-to-south in a non-squatch Bronco. It was very rocky and some of the ledges/steps were big enough to warrant getting out a few times to pick the line -- especially on the single wide highest cliff cuts going around corners. We met 3 motorcycles, 2 side-by-sides and a pickup all coming the opposite direction. Was glad we didn't meet any of them on some of the cliff cuts.

Drove from north to south. Rutted, bumpy, lots of loose rock and cobbles in spots but not anything a stock Jeep or Bronco shouldn't be able to handle. All dry, dusty. Some sign of fairly recent grading in a few spots. much of it was doable in 2wd. Some 4wd on steeper looser spots.

Started in Patagonia. First 11-12 miles were very mild, mostly graded roads you could take at speed, stayed aired up. Very little traffic, more bikes than anything else. Back half had some more rough patches & choose to use 4L in a couple places just to make it easier, still remained aired up. Great conditions, even ran into a new BMW X5 (on OEM tires) headed towards Patagonia.

Started on the Patagonia side, pretty smooth for about the first third, the rest is pretty rocky but totally passable. Did the whole trail in 2-1/2 hours. Stopped a couple times to pop some caps.

Extremely washed out but easily passed. It looks different than ever before. I run stock set up loaded with weight in a 2023 Tacoma 4x4 offroad and it was easy.

This was my fifth trip across to Patagonia. The trail was in the worst condition I have seen it. It was a very bumpy ride with many obstacles, mostly rock. On a positive note, we saw a big mountain lion about 10 yards away and moving away from us. Beautiful cat. The one way trip took 3 hours with few stops.

Fantastic trail. lots of wildlife and beautiful vistas. cacti are in bloom now with forests of orange ocitillo and yellow prickly pear blooms. the trails are rocky and rutted but not hard if you go slow and steady. We finished at about 1:30 after starting at about 9:30 am making several stops for pictures. All in All a very enjoyable trail.

Started in Patagonia, 2:30 to Mt. Hopkins Rd. Saw a quad and SxS, A Ford Raptor and some whitetail. An easy afternoon with stunning vistas.
