Trail Overview

This is both a fun and useful trail for traversing the desert area north of Beaver Dam. One end connects just above the Beaver Dam Wash and the other end goes up on the mountain ridge to take you back to Bloomington if you can get over the mountain. It is high enough in the valley to provide some wonderful views as you follow along the high-tension powerline that crosses the valley. It is an easy track and provides a great opportunity for the new driver to learn a little bit about their machine. This trail either crosses or connects to some fantastic adventures and it allows you to move across the valley quickly. This area gets extremely hot in the summer. Be sure to carry adequate water when visiting the area.

Difficulty

This trail is used by the maintenance crews if there are repairs needed for the high tension powerlines or towers along this route. It can be traversed by most modern pickups, so any other vehicles with similar clearance should be fine. There are some small washes but they are not deep and are easily navigated.
