Trail Overview
This is a fun route through the desert flats north of Oracle Junction, Arizona. The west side starts on the pole line just off of Highway 79, then goes east on a well-defined road-width portion of dirt trail. This segment of the trail is very easy, with gradual curves and shallow ruts, but no technical elements. The last half mile of trail turns south off of the main track and continues as a more primitive track. This primitive portion rides through the desert flora next to towering saguaros, cholla, and mesquite trees, on a narrow dirt track that is a bit overgrown with bushes in the middle of the track, and is less trafficked, ending on another primitive trail on the south end. This trail is on Arizona State Trust Land, which requires a permit for recreation from the Arizona State Land Department.
