Trail Overview
Porque Tank Trail clocks in right at three miles long. If you are traversing this trail from the South to the North, the southern portion starts off with a gate you must open and close. After the gate, the trail consists of a fairly rocky and rutted hill climb. Many of these ruts snake all over the trail’s surface and keep the trail decently uneven. As you approach Porque Tank, the trail becomes less rough and more level. After Porque Tank, the trail dives towards Dandrea Spring. There will be a deep erosion rut around a tight turn right before Dandrea Spring. The trail continues to be rocky and rutted until you come to an intersection with a main dirt road that looks to be maintained. The maintained dirt trail ends at an old quarry site, and the trail climbs uphill and ends abruptly at another old quarry trench to the East. Some areas along this trail have overgrown vegetation and are pretty narrow. Full-size 4 x 4 vehicles use caution; paint damage will be inevitable.
