Trail Overview

The route to Point Sublime is a dirt road featuring roots, rocks, and steep rocky slopes. Despite the uneven sections, the journey offers stunning scenery through the beautiful Kaibab National Forest, culminating in a breathtaking view at Point Sublime. Some clearance and low range would be helpful to take certain areas slow, this trail can be somewhat challenging at times.

Difficulty

The route to Point Sublime is a dirt road with some added difficulty due to roots and rocks. Expect steep, rocky slopes and uneven sections along the trail, making for an adventurous and rugged journey.

Don’t be fooled because it’s a 3. You need high clearance for this. Not hard but very rough. Ran into someone with a stock GMC terrain, he said “it can handle some terrain “ but I don’t know if his bumper made it out unscathed. Super rocky and dusty as hell. Worth the trip to sublime though.

Took this back from Point Sublime to North Rim as a short cut. Trail went from rocky and winding to numerous narrow washes with ledges and off camber climbs. Green is for the sand bottom meadow 2 miles at the North Rim end, the rest is a definite Blue. Was a blast though!

Agree with the previous poster. Trail should be blue, you need a high clearance 4X4 for some sections and the road is tight in places.

Rating we saw on the app was Green (easy). Trail had sections that were technical from erosion. A more accurate rating would be Blue.

Didn't seem like a 3 to me. Outside of the meadow and west of the Crystal Canyon viewpoint, there were a number of sections where I was having to ensure a pristine line. I think I scraped at least a half a dozen times.

Trail was narrow in spots, lots of rocks and off camber sections. Some sections were very easy, but about half was not. Found some cool stuff and an epic viewpoint overlooking the Grand Canyon. Totally worth it.
