Trail Overview
This is a fun ridge line trail for a mile on the hilltops south of Salome, Arizona. These are loose rocky hills full of various cactus - cholla, saguaro, ocotillos. The trail follows a flowy ridge line from the hilltops to the saddles and down to the valley floor on the east end. This trail is on the edge of the trail system and doesn't connect to anything on the east end, so it will likely be ridden as an out-and-back. There aren't any major obstacles or rock ledges, just a few steep spots that are loose and rocky. It dips in and out of sandy wash crossings that sometimes can have a steep approach or exit from the wash. It's overall very scenic and can be really green here in the springtime. This trail is entirely unmarked, but is easy to follow.
