Trail Overview

Outback Trail begins off Castle Hot Springs Road. Trail shares road 28092 for a short distance. The first portion runs through BLM land, transitioning onto State Trust property. The trail provides access to private property and ends at the private property sign. Along the way, you'll find a secluded campsite with stunning views of a desert valley. The trail features beautiful, stained rock hillsides, large saguaros, and a variety of desert plants. The road is graded and can be traveled by any vehicle. However, rain can create ruts and washouts, so conditions may vary throughout the year.

As you leave Castle Hot Springs Rd and start up the hill there is a typical style cattle gate, common in these areas. A short distance further they’ve installed a steel locked gate. No signage, no explanation just blocking off our public trails at will.
