History

In 1863, cattle and sheep found their way to this area, thanks to the efforts of Mormon settlers expanding their lands. Orderville Canyon was a prime area for grazing. It was named after the Orderville United Order, a Mormon Church cooperative established around 1880. The area has been sold and bought several times since then. At one time the area had a sawmill in operation.

A fun trail with a couple stretches of slight challenge. Good for a beginner like me to try and test some basic techniques. Made it through in a stock 98 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4. Pretty rocky in parts and trees down on either side of the road, but no full obstructions.
