Old Car Wash Ajo

This mostly dirt and gravel surface trail is in the middle of a beautiful desert landscape with saguaros everywhere and mountain views in the distance. There is a lovely campsite at the beginning of the route and another one about halfway down the trail under an established tree. This second campsite is great for some shade or even a hammock. This trail is mostly flat and easygoing. There is one narrow section with a small washout on one side and very low-hanging trees. Be sure to peek down into the washes as you drive along this trail, and you might spot the old green car. The best time to travel this one is in spring and fall. Spring will reward you with beautiful yellow and purple wildflowers.
