Trail Overview
Lower Martinez Creek is a wide, sand-filled wash. As is typical with washes in the desert, multiple trail options come into and out of the wash, as well as workarounds where the water flows. This wash was mapped to follow the main, wide channel. There are islands filled with vegetation, as well as trees and shrubbery lining both sides of the entire creekbed. There are no obstacles on this trail, though there are some narrow spots usually up against walls, and some washboarded sections as well. The wash at the southern end has a fence across it, and following the existing trail east, there's a locked gate with no access to the land to the south.
