Lone Mine Trail

Lone Mine Trail doesn't lead to just one mine, but actually two abandoned mine shafts only a few feet apart. The route is a short one-mile out; two miles round-trip. The trail begins as an easy two-track heading south. As you begin going downhill, you'll encounter some large rocks scattered on the trail, as well as some erosion damage and brief off-camber sections. The trail crosses the wash before climbing up the hill on the other side. This trail doesn't seem traveled nearly as much as some of the others in the area, but it does lead to a point of interest. As previously mentioned, the trail ends at two open vertical mine shafts. There is fencing around them and warning signs posted. Use extreme caution around them. On a nice clear day, be sure to enjoy the great views out across the valley. The trail does have some cell service.
