Trail Overview

The northwest end of this trail starts in a wide sandy wash, with lots of tracks to follow. It rides past towering saguaro cactus, wispy ocotillo, and giant boulders and rock formations on the edge of the wash. There are a couple of embedded rock layers in the wash, creating ramped short rock ledges, but they are not difficult to ride over. In a few spots, there are taller rock walls in the wash, making it more scenic and unique. It comes up to a split line where the right side is a ramped rock obstacle that you’ll have to ride down, and the left line is a narrow spot with a giant boulder in the center of the line, making it narrower for ATVs, but likely still passable. Right after this obstacle, there is a more moderate climb out of the wash on a rugged surface with embedded rock layers and deep ruts. If you miss the exit from the wash, you’ll see that the wash peters out and becomes filled in with more boulders. At the top of the obstacle, the route continues on a road section of trail, followed by a couple more segments of both sandy wash and road until it ends after almost 2 miles.

Difficulty

This is a moderate route because it has two moderate obstacles. One is a ramped rock feature a few feet high. The other is a steep climb out of the wash with big rock layers and ruts. It won’t be ideal for newer riders.
