Trail Overview

This section continues from the Hellgate Wilderness Trail and runs out to Castle Hot Springs Road. It’s a gravel road wide enough for two vehicles to pass, with several campsites and nearby hiking opportunities along the way. Expect beautiful, wide-open mountain views throughout. The trail features gentle rolling hills that dip into low wash areas—these can become impassable in wet weather due to flash flooding. Use caution after storms, as normally dry creek crossings may hold water. You’ll also pass a water tank; remember that camping is not permitted within 0.5 miles of the tank. The trail ultimately exits at Castle Hot Springs Road.
