Trail Overview

HeeHaw Trail is a short spur route branching off Pleasant Burro Drive that follows gravel and rocky terrain overlooking Lake Pleasant. The trail is easy to navigate with a few minor washouts typical of the surrounding desert landscape. Along the route, several short paths lead toward the lake shoreline where previous visitors have created small campfire areas. The area is known for frequent sightings of wild burros, which inspired the trail’s name. HeeHaw Trail makes a great quick detour for lakeside views, fishing access, or a quiet place to enjoy the desert scenery along Lake Pleasant.

They are now enforcing the No Trespassing - Park Property sign at the beginning of this trail. We were there on May 30, 2026 with some friends Maricopa Sheriff gave us a $700 Trespassing Ticket! I have been across the cove at the park boat ramp twice since and saw the Sheriff patrolling the area from ground and drones.
