Trail Overview

Forest Service Road 9604S is just over one and a half miles long and travels northeast. The beginning of the trail has small ruts and loose rocks scattered about. As you continue northeast, the ruts deepen and the trail becomes steeper. You will pass through a dry wash and begin to climb in elevation. This hill climb is the most difficult part of the trail, featuring extremely uneven ruts that make it very technical. Along these ruts, loose rocks are scattered everywhere. As you continue uphill, the ruts give way to a very rocky surface. Several large rock gardens appear as you approach the end of the trail. At the trail’s end, the junipers are somewhat overgrown, and the trail becomes very faint.
