Trail Overview
Forest Service Road 9496F is a rocky dirt trail that intersects with Rock Garden Loop guided trail. As you start this trail, you will see Oak Tank to your right. The trail starts off as a dirt trail then quickly turns rocky. The main obstacle is a short, steep, and rocky downhill drop. This obstacle is within the first 1/4 mile of the trail's starting point. The obstacle is short but very uneven with large rocks to navigate over. The trail is narrow through this area so choose your line wisely. After this short but fun rock crawl, the trail turns more into a dirt trail with off-and-on small rocky sections. The trail then snakes around a mesa and ends at a non-motorized sign that is just past Jacks Point Tank. This sign is very faded and hard to see if you are not looking hard enough. This trail will take you through ponderosas at the beginning and end on a wind-swept mesa with junipers scattered all around.
Difficulty
Expect an uneven, rutted, and rocky obstacle that is over 18 inches with a short, steep grade.
