Trail Overview

This trail starts with a large mud puddle right at the entrance that can become treacherous after recent rain or snow, though there is usually a drive-around. Beyond that, it’s mostly a dirt road with scattered fist-sized rocks and a few dispersed camp spots along the way. The route offers beautiful views of the Fossil Springs Wilderness to the west as it travels across the mesa. The road eventually dead-ends at the edge of the mesa, where the terrain drops off steeply, and it appears the route has been reclaimed by the wilderness with no through connection.

Difficulty

This trail is rated 3/10 due to the potential for deep mud at the start, rocky surface, and minor obstacles along the route. While generally manageable in dry conditions, drivers should be cautious after storms and comfortable navigating uneven terrain.
