Trail Overview

The beginning of this trail starts off at the junction with FS 214 and FS 9241K. The portion of this trail on FS 9241K is easy-going with small rocky sections with gentle grades. The trail will turn to the left which will be marked by FS 9241F. From there, the surface of the trail continues to be laid back. You will come to a gate that you must open and close. The trail will traverse down towards Vernon Tank. As you pass Vernon Tank, the trail's surface will continue to get more rough with small rock gardens and loose rocks covering the trail. The trail will turn to the East and you will have a short but steep hill climb with loose rocks all over the trail's surface. This climb will lead you to the top of a saddle that has amazing views of Sedona and the San Francisco Peaks. The trail will continue off this saddle with a short, steep downhill with small loose rocks. You will pass a tank and shortly after the trail ends overlooking West Clear Creek Wilderness. At the end of this trail, there is no place to turn around so use caution.
