Trail Overview

Forest Service 620C is a 3-mile long trail and begins off of Apache Maid Climb guided trail. This trail starts off as a somewhat level dirt road as you travel across a meadow. After you cross this meadow, the trail then starts to climb a small hill. The surface of this trail becomes a little more uneven with small loose rocks scattered along the trail. While traversing along, the trail opens up to a very pretty meadow with lots of yellow flowers all around which are present in the spring and summer. From this meadow, the trail then drops in elevation and becomes peppered with small rock gardens which are accompanied by loose rocks. Be cautious while traversing downhill for sneaky larger rocks in the center of the trail that are covered by vegetation. As the downhill levels out, you will have to pass over a small erosion rut from precipitation runoff. This is a very sharp and steep rut so make sure you don't travel over it too quickly. From there, the trail travels a short way and ends close to Wet Beaver Wilderness. The meadows along this trail show evidence of cross-country travel. Please stay on designated roads and trails.
