Trail Overview

This very old and overgrown track runs along the eastern side of the mesa, offering absolutely stunning views as it descends toward a fenced wildlife water catchment development. The trail travels through open grassy mesa terrain mixed with low desert vegetation, cacti, and scrub. Throughout the drive, you can see for miles into the Sierra Anchas and down toward Cherry Creek Road as it winds up and over the saddle, making this a highly scenic but lightly traveled route. It's very interesting to walk around and see the wildlife water development the Forest Service has set up.

Difficulty

This trail is rated 1/10 due to the generally smooth terrain and lack of significant obstacles. The main consideration is the overgrown track, which may result in brush contact and light pinstriping rather than technical difficulty.
