Trail Overview
This trail drops quickly into a sandy wash where the driving is mostly easy and flat, surrounded by dense vegetation lining the canyon walls. After following the wash for a while, the route climbs out along the edge of the canyon, opening up to beautiful views of Black Mesa in the distance and saguaros scattered along the landscape. Toward the end, the trail becomes a slight shelf road positioned above the wash, though it remains wide enough for full-size vehicles. The route finishes with a very steep, rocky hill climb up to the powerlines, where the trail dead ends with great views of the surrounding mountains.
Difficulty
This trail is rated 3/10 due to the sandy wash driving, the shelf road section, and the steep rocky hill climb at the end. While most of the route is fairly easy, drivers should be comfortable with loose terrain, steep climbs, and maintaining traction on the final ascent.
