Trail Overview

Elvis is a rough wash with many difficult obstacles. Most obstacles have bypasses, but even those require a skilled and built Jeep. 33's and lockers are recommended, but not necessary if the more extreme obstacles are bypassed. Some obstacles will require a good spotter and stacking of a few rocks. We ran this at night which made it especially nice in the heat. The latter part, or northern trail, takes you to the box canyon waterfall obstacle and then back through some interesting ridges. This is a rewarding trail with great views.

Difficulty

The easiest line choices through this canyon make it a 4, but one could easily make it an 8 running some of the optional obstacles.

Wash still recovering from recent rains but mostly dried up at the first 3 obstacles. Start is a little confusing now since there has not been much traffic - stay left when you first enter the wash. Traction was overall great. Waterfall has a decent hole entering it making it a little taller than normal. Some overhanging brush/trees will leave the AZ pin striping. Obstacles were great this run, no issues. The Squeeze has a lot of sand removed so getting the front left tire up forces a little more articulation that puts the right door pretty close but manageable. Go straight up the wash instead of turning out towards Box and get the best views ever!

The previous week's storms have changed the complexity of the trail. There are a lot more washouts and obstructions. The result of boulders being repositioned. there were several downed trees that were laying in the middle of the trail. And had to be navigated. The heavy rain caused several washes to change the look. And even with onyx, it was difficult to stay on trail. we took on most of the major obstacles and succeeded. However, we did leave some jeep parts behind. With the water rushing through the canyons, clearances have changed significantly. And if you're on thirty threes, good luck. definitely a challenging and fun day.But you have to be set up properly to take on this trail.

Lots of fun obstacles and so so many lines you can take, this trail is what you make it! We did it backwards and finished at price road. We had a mid travel sequoia go with us and he made it with a few tugs along the way, skid plates recommended for lower/ifs vehicles.

though rated an 8 due to some of the optional obstacles, if you avoid them, like the up and over, it would be a 5 in my opinion.

Fun little trail, each section of hard rock has multiple lines. Can easily take an open diff vehicle with 31’s on the trail, or also take a well built rig and run the optional lines.

Definitely a fun trail! Can be super hard to super easy! Lots of bypasses which is good for some people! I recommend full skids and sliders for this!

As hard or easy (ish) as you want it. First obstacle is the hardest but has a bypass. Dont recommend going alone as even the bypasses can need a spot. Overall a fun trail thay requires a little skill.

Stock 2016 Honda Puoneer 1000-5. Really fun technical sections, needed to scout lines a few times. To slow and be smart and it’s awesome. My wife found it less enjoyable.🤠

You will definitely need some clearance to get by on this one. Even on my stock 2017 xp4 1000 I had a little trouble trying to get through the wash. Very tight spaces if you don’t have the proper clearance. I wouldn’t go alone.

Elvis Trail can be accessed by the following ride types:

  • 60 Inch
  • High Clearance
