Trail Overview
This 3-mile out-and-back trail is a gravel and rock wash in the Trigo Mountain wilderness, lined with mud walls and rock formations that create dramatic scenery. A quarter mile into the trail, the route climbs out of the wash in a very steep, uneven, and very off-camber slot that presents an immediate serious challenge. The trail gets more and more narrow as you continue, winding through the canyon with rock walls closing in around you. There is another very steep climb that tests your skills and vehicle capability before you finally drop back into a wash. Despite the technical challenges, this is a fun one that rewards skilled drivers with an engaging and scenic experience through rugged terrain.

Difficulty
This is a challenging trail that requires high clearance with good traction as a must. The very steep, uneven, and very off-camber slot a quarter mile in is a significant obstacle that may stop some vehicles, and wide vehicles may have issues navigating it. The narrowing trail and second steep climb demand skilled driving, momentum management, and possibly spotting. Four wheel drive and experienced drivers are essential. This trail is best suited for capable, narrower wheelbase vehicles.
