Copper Queen

Copper Queen is named after the Copper Queen Mine, not to be confused with the larger, more productive Copper Queen Mine in Bisbee, Arizona. This trail is a beautiful jaunt through the tell tale environment of the Kaibab National Forest. Unlike the section to the North, this area is populated with Juniper and mixed pine trees, as well as scrubbrush and undergrowth. The dirt two-track will happily remind you that this area is shaped by water, and it's off camber mud ruts, and rocky steep hill climbs reinforce that fact. The highlight is the wildlife. The elk, wild horses, and deer are present, as well as smaller mammals. There are some areas where the trail bobs and weaves between narrow trees, making it harder for a full size vehicle, though not impossible. The views to the East, of Red Butte, are gorgeous and expansive.
