Trail Overview

Camp Creek Road is in the Tonto National Forest and requires a pass, which can be purchased at the ranger station. The road is a mixed surface road combination of sand, rocks, and gravel, most of this trail runs in a wash. Please do not attempt when rainy as this area is very prone to flooding, camping is also not advised. This area is very busy with side-by-side and dirt bikes, there are many roads and it is easy to get lost. There is a campground at one end.

Fun trail, rainy day so no dust and firm sand. Trail is washboard and some deep ruts from SXS. Note pay attention as dirt bikes and SXS get going pretty fast and it gets tight in the canyon. If you’re heading in from Bartlett Dam road try and stay right on the trail and opposite coming back. The canyon is fun and very green right now.

I’ve done this trail in my Wrangler and Ranger Raptor. In the long sandy straight aways was able to run with some speed Baja style. Most of the rigs were SxSs. There are a lot of lines and it was easy to avoid pin striping if you are running a newer vehicle on this easy trail. We did it north to south and ended at the river. There were several people there but it was very mellow compared to summer time.

really fun easy trail took a two door bronco a 4 door and a land cruiser. it was easy enough to get some speed in Baja mode but at the end of the trail was about 20 dirt bikes... really recommend for beginners super easy and straight forward...lots of braids and options to choose from when driving that all lead to the same main road

All trails barricaded from Rio Verde SR20 including Needle Rock parking lot. No closure notice at Tonto pass kiosk so purchased pass for nothing. Recent fires in area over East side of river and looks like flooding is anticipated.
