Black Jack Tank - FS 597

This short offshoot from Cave Creek Road (FS 24) offers a quick but rewarding adventure with expansive high desert views and a stop at a cattle water hole. After passing through the first gate, the route opens up to its most scenic stretch, with wide‑open vistas that continue until the second gate. Beyond that point, the trail becomes rougher but remains brief, leading to Blackjack Tank—a small livestock watering area tucked into the landscape.
