Trail Overview

This is a great trail! You can take your time to enjoy the scenery or drive quickly to reach your destination. The road is mostly gravel and dirt, with some deep ruts and mud towards the end. Getting here is easy;the trail is just off Rim Road West from Highway 87. There aren't many camping spots, but there are plenty of open areas nearby to explore and camp in. The highlight of the trail is the amazing view of the Blue Ridge Reservoir at the end, which you can also access from Highway 87 and the Blue Ridge Campground Trail.

Difficulty

Dirt or rocky road with gentle grades. Safe for most 4WD and high-clearance 2WD vehicles. The roads are typically two vehicles wide.

Very easy trail with a drop off at the end to see the view of the water. It’s a little hard packed with gravel and some parts are rocky but still fun. 2 vehicle wide and easy to pass.
