Trail Overview
This trail starts as an easy, relatively flat track through low desert scrub heading toward Roosevelt Lake. The surface is rocky and bumpy but not overly technical, with a few dispersed camp spots along the way. As you continue, you'll get fantastic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The trail gradually descends with a mild grade, though it becomes narrower the closer you get to the water. Keep an eye out for a massive double-crested saguaro on the right as you approach the lake. Near the end, the trail pinches through a tight section of trees before opening up into a dry lakebed where you can continue out to the shoreline. The shoreline area is an extremely rocky boulder garden where high clearance is absolutely necessary. There are numerous fire rings and camping options along the beach, including spots right next to the water. This would also be a great place to launch kayaks.

Difficulty
This trail is rated 3/10 due to the rocky surface, narrowing sections near the lake, and the final dip onto the shoreline. While generally easy, drivers should be comfortable with uneven terrain and rock gardens.
