Trail 47030 begins directly off Carefree Highway (Arizona Highway 74), just before the turnoff to Castle Hot Springs Road. Enter through the gate marked “Keep Gate Closed.” From here, the route connects to several neighboring trails, including Trail 47029, which continues into Morgan City Wash. After closing the gate, the trail immediately climbs a rocky, rutted hill. Similar terrain appears throughout the route, with sections of washouts and uneven surfaces typical of the area. As you reach higher points along the trail, you’ll catch scenic views of Lake Pleasant. There are a number of camping opportunities along the way. The majority of the trail runs through BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land and eventually ends at a private-property boundary. The private property marker is vaguely marked.
