Trail Overview

The trail starts right off Castle Hot Springs Road, with a convenient area to air down and prep before hitting the trail. You’ll immediately descend into the wash and begin your journey on Trail 47019. The trail winds in and out of the powerline right of way, with rocky sections that take you through the Bradshaw Mountains. Each turn offers views of large saguaro cacti and a variety of desert vegetation. Washes can become challenging after rainfall, so be prepared for potentially tricky conditions. The trail ends at a nice campsite, just before it drops into the Hellgate Wilderness Trail. Note that this trail can get busy on weekends, so use caution when traveling, especially around other vehicles.

Difficulty

A standard 4WD vehicle can navigate this trail as it follows the powerline right of way. High clearance 4WD may be needed on rocky sections, depending on other vehicle use and recent rainfall. Stay alert for a few large rock ledge obstacles. Great trail for the less experienced.

Started from west to east ending at the road. Was a nice trail easy and fun. Didn’t really have much technical spots except 2. The beginning hand a nice steep hill climb. And at the end as well. Was on 4low should of air down but felt lazy to air down and air up lol. Did it in a stock Nissan frontier pro4x.

For a pole line trail, this ranks on the difficult level for the bigger dirtbikes. I was on a KTM 690 going West to East and you had to work for those rocky hillclimbs!

From the start its steep incline/declines and very rocky We rode with a 125cc pit bike and 125cc dirt bike. We went half way and decided to turn around due to the rocks! As a beginner I was excited that I killed it 🤘

Entry hill off castle hot springs has deteriorated but still fine with high clearance 4x4 good spotter or know your rig well. 2nd hill near the exit to the wash is off camber but high clearance 4x4 know your rig or good spotter. Fun trail according to onX rating system after rain this fall could be a 3 now but still green.

The trail was marked as GREEN and said easy for beginners so figured it would be nice to try with my family. This seemed a lot more tricky and difficult than I was expecting right from the word go … and I may or may not have terrified my family so did a very tricky turn right at the beginning and headed out. Not sure if the rains have deteriorated this road but seems a little more technical than 2/10 in my opinion

Trail was GREEN so I decided to take it with my family. There was some more technical stuff right away but I figured because it was GREEN it was only be a small portion. Turns out while there wasn’t a lot of terribly technical stuff through the trail, it was covered in large loose boulders and made for very slow going. Based on the trails I’ve ridden this one should not be GREEN, which generally signifies a fairly easy ride. It’s not difficult but if you aren’t paying attention, you could certainly find yourself causing damage to your rig. Scenery was nice but not really a fun trail. My opinion and opinions vary.
