Trail Overview
FR 219a has no obstacles but also provides no cell service. The trail is predominately rock and dirt, with the potential for mud, ruts, and puddles during the monsoon season in Arizona. Surrounded by a dense forest of aspen and pine, the potential for downed trees is high, so a large handsaw or chainsaw is recommended. There are no campsites along this one-lane trail, with minimal places to pass if you encounter oncoming traffic. This trail was not run to completion due to a downed tree blocking the trail. Remember to follow Tread Lightly principles when dealing with obstacles on the trail and only stay on established paths.
Difficulty
This is an unmaintained trail with a high potential for hazards caused by the dense surrounding forest. Widow makers (hanging broken trees) and downed trees are a legitimate hazard in the area. There is no cell service on this trail, so caution is urged. The trail was blocked by a downed tree and was not run to completion.
