Trail Overview

One of the toughest badge of honor trails that I have run. This trail starts with a gnarly V-notch. There is a lot of scenery and a couple of roundabouts that take you to the same trail. There is one large boulder in the middle of the trail that you can go around. There are a couple of areas with tight trees, but doable in a full-size vehicle. One off camber downhill turn and one 2-3 foot ledge area. Very rocky trail.

Difficulty

One area with a 2-3 foot ledge, many large rocks that can exceed axle height. Lots of loose rocks and washes.

Uphill Both Ways is a solid 6 on a tacky day, but the second it gets wet it turns into a full-on rodeo. We hit it coming up the V-notch, and that’s absolutely the way to run it—wet or dry—because you’ve actually got control of your rig instead of just sliding and praying. And that V-notch...The second you drop into it, you’re shoved off-camber and flexed out to the max, suspension twisted to its limit while your tires fight for every inch of traction. Once you’re past it, the trail throws bigger rocks, off-camber stretches that make you clench the seat, and trees so tight in other sections you can practically taste the sap. Even if you’ve gotta pull cable, it’s worth every bit of it. Easily one of the best Badge of Honor trails on the East Coast.

Very difficult trail either way you go but the entrance furthest from trail 31 would be the easier route but is not easy. Once you start there is no turning back.
