Trail Overview
This out-and-back trail begins roughly 8 miles inland from Highway 1 at a major trail junction, offering easy access to the surrounding desert landscape. The first few miles follow a sandy SCORE race route before transitioning to a smooth, well-maintained road. This road meanders through a scenic forest filled with towering cardon cacti and whimsical boojum trees, interspersed with low-lying desert vegetation. Stretching roughly 10 miles, the road offers an accessible, enjoyable journey without any difficult sections. At the road's end, countless new adventures await, with miles of uncharted paths branching off in all directions, inviting further exploration.
Difficulty
The trail begins with a two-mile stretch of sandy terrain, marked by deep sand ruts left from previous SCORE racing events. Beyond this section, the road becomes well-maintained and easy to navigate, offering a smooth ride without any challenging obstacles.
