Trail Overview

Rough, rocky road between Laguna Chapala (Hwy 1 / Hwy 5 junction) and the Pacific Coast. This passes through an unnamed dry lakebed labeled as Laguna Intermittent. This lakebed and the silt beds nearby would be impassable when wet. The rocky bits are rough and slow, and this road sees very little use. Air down, be prepared for flats and be prepared for self-recovery.

This trail is rough and fairly untraveled. Very rough rock uphill climbs and some silty 2-track at the west (bottom) portion. On a dirt bike, this was a very challenging trail. We did not see any sections that were washed out or impassable, just difficult, rocky 2 track the entire way through. The eastern end on either side of the dry lake bed is smoother fast 2 track, and the lake bed was dry, flat, fast, and fun. NOTE: At the eastern terminus where the route comes to Highway 1, take the dashed southern offshoot to exit/enter through the ranch gate (not the green line shown) to get around the wildlife fence.

More like a 7/10. Lots of wash outs, Deep ruts, silt and more rock than dirt

This trail is not that difficult, but it takes a long time. Prepare for 4-5 hours depending on your set up. Some ruts swallow 35's
